Wirreanda 40th Anniversary

21 November 2025

Mr GREG WARREN (Campbelltown)—Wirreanda Public School in Medowie holds a very special place in my heart, having been the school where each of my children went and I was P&C President for a while. So it was very special to join current and former principals, teachers, staff, students and families for a very exciting celebration – Wirreanda Public School's 40th birthday! From its beginnings with just six classes and many wallabies under the gum trees, the school now buzzes with 22 classes, supporting 540 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. At the big birthday celebrations we were treated to performances by the dance ensembles, the school song with an Auslan accompaniment, a moving video message from acting principal, Holly Deguara, and a return visit from substantive principal, Phillipa Young. It's clear that a lot has changed over the years at the school, but there's something that never has – the school's spirit and it's focus on supporting every student to succeed remains strong. Thank you to every single student, teacher, staff member, principal, P&C member and school leader who's helped shape the school to become what it is today – happy 40th birthday Wirreanda Public School!
