Higher School Certificate Students

16 October 2025

Mr GREG WARREN (Campbelltown) (16:00): By leave: I am delighted to talk about our year 12 students, who begin the HSC today. It is an important and big day for those students, who have spent 13 years investing in their education, and it is time for them to bring it home. I did not do my HSC. I left school at year 10 when I directly enlisted in the Royal Australian Infantry Corps. At 17 years old, I found myself in Kapooka and then went through the infantry centre near your way, Madam Deputy Speaker, and Townsville and at a few other places. While I cannot specifically and personally relate to the anxiety and the stress that those students are going through, I can certainly sympathise, as the Parliamentary Secretary for Education and Early Learning, having that privilege of being able to talk to many students. I am also a father, so I know what they go through. I wish every student all the very best. I thank the House.

The DEPUTY SPEAKER (Ms Sonia Hornery): I acknowledge the member for Campbelltown and commend him for his distinguished career in the military.
